Our Children's Ministry seeks to work with parents and families to lead our children into a life of faith and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through worship, Bible study, fellowship, missions, service, and congregational and family support.

Fireworks Tailgate Party - Join the Children's Ministry for a church-wide fellowship time before the city's fireworks show on July 3rd at the JSU Coliseum.  Look for the balloons and bring your lawn chair. 

         Please bring a "hot weather" snack to share.  Chicken, watermelon, drinks and paper products will be provided.  Children's activities will begin at 6:30 pm.  Fireworks will start after dark.

Get ready for a Sunday School Revolution! 
Live BIG! curriculum is coming August 3rd to Jacksonville FUMC. 

Children will be in six groups for Sunday School:

Infants, Toddlers, & Twos, and our three and four year olds will be downstairs in the preschool hall for their classes. 


Elementary ages will be upstairs.  These classes are:
Kindergarten 
1st & 2nd Graders
3rd & 4th Graders
5th & 6th Graders

This month in Sunday School:   Pentecost and the Early Church

Scripture:  Acts 2:1-13 

 

Memory Verse:  "But the Holy Spirit will come and help you, because the Father will send the Spirit to take my place.  The Spirit will teach you everything and will remind you of what I said while I was with you." John 14:26 (CEV)


Objectives for Pentecost rotation
At the end of the Pentecost rotation, the students will
* know where Acts is in the New Testament and know that it is the story of the early church after Jesus' death and resurrection.
* be able to retell the story of the coming of the Holy Spirit.
* begin to understand the role of the Holy Spirit.
* understand that the Spirt is with us as we are called to share the Good News.
* find their own answer to Acts 2:37 in response to the coming of the Spirit: "Brothers, what shall we do?"
* repeat the memory verse.


 

CROSSWALK on Wednesdays

 Crosswalk focuses on four elements of spiritual growth: enrichment, Bible study, fellowship, and music/worship arts.  Through this program, our ministry aims to meet the need of our children in an exciting new way!  

Make plans now for your child to join us in the fall for this spiritual, emotional, and physical enrichment program. Each child who walks over from Kitty Stone Elementary School has to have a release form on file at the school.  Release forms can be picked up at the church office or downloaded from the forms section of this website.
